Real-Time Ground Truth
consensus map
When a disaster strikes — whether it is a severe typhoon, an earthquake, or a sudden infrastructure failure — the traditional channels of civic communication break down. Government dashboards lag, official damage assessments may take days, and social media feeds become an unnavigable noise of unverified panic.
checkSARGEN is conceived not as a static civic dashboard, but as a live, distributed consensus map for physical situations. It turns imperfect human observations into an immediate, actionable map.
Purpose and Scope
The overarching purpose of checkSARGEN is to answer the single most critical question during a crisis:
“What is the ground truth right now?”
This Proof of Concept (POC) app aims to supplement the efforts of the respective authorities, while at the same time functioning as an immediate peer-to-peer verifiable bulletin map in times of emergency by allowing the citizens to crowdsource the status of vital information of affected areas.
Local Tracking
Report issues directly across four key infrastructure categories: Transportation, Power Grids, Telecom/Signal, and Basic Necessities. Pinpoint coords automatically clamp to supported local municipalities.
Offline-First Design
Connectivity issues in remote barangays? checkSARGEN buffers and stores reports in an offline queue. Everything automatically syncs to the server the second your device re-establishes a connection.
Community Trust Score
We employ a robust upvote and downvote verification mechanism. The community acts as the moderator, helping validate report status and flag resolving issues dynamically.
Open & Transparent
No registration or complex signup flows required. We support simple device identification to keep reports anonymous yet protected against malicious spamming.
